Waterford Fringe Festival is an annual multi-disciplinary Arts Festival. We hope that by presenting a varied programme of visual art,featuring an exciting mix of International and local artists, drama, including Irish Premieres of overseas work, music, comedy and special fun and family events, we have something in our programme to suit all tastes.
We hope our 2009 programme will capture the imagination of our national and local media and establish Waterford as a centre of international arts excellence.
This year, as our featured artist, we are proud to present the internationally aclaimed
photographer John Minihan most famous for literary protraits and Landscapes. His friendship with Samuel Beckett and Francis Bacon produced some of the most remarkable photographs ever taken of these iconic figures.
This present exhibition will span over four decades with iconic shots of Bacon, Beckett, Heaney, Burton , Pacino, Warhol,Diana,Hockney, and many many more. The exhibition opens on Fri Sept 11th @ 8pm, Greyfriars Gallery, Waterford
